Biography, like big game hunting, is one of the recognized forms of sport, and it is as unfair as only sport can be.
So while you’re an athlete, and you have that platform, what you want to be able to do is make it work for you as much as possible, because there’s going to be life after sports.
The more violent the body contact of the sports you watch, the lower the class.
Mental strength is really important because you either win or lose in your mind. And I’m not solely talking about sporting matches, boxing events – anything you do, you do it first with your mental strength. And you can actually train and develop it, and I am responsible for what I’m saying because I have experience with that.
Sports isn’t just a part of life. It’s not life itself.
I think we have tremendous media covering the sport of boxing, even if boxing is a little bit lost in popularity with MMA sports. And I think that with the show ‘Lights Out’ it’s going to get more attention to the sport, and it’s going to put more attention to the problems that athletes in general have.

Even from their infancy we frame them to the sports of love: their instruction, behavior, attire, grace, learning and all their words azimuth only at love, respects only affection. Their nurses and their keepers imprint no other thing in them.
We have Al Jazeera Arabic news, Al Jazeera English news, of course; we have three sports channels, and we have Al Jazeera Mubasher, which is a live channel that broadcasts live press conferences and symposiums and meetings. And, of course, we have Al Jazeera commentary in Arabic.
I think sports is one of the places where race plays itself out publicly. Although we pretend it doesn’t.
